Massage by Lydia is a licensed and board certified massage therapist operating out of her home studio in Anchorage.
After her graduation and certification, she hit the ground running as a favored therapist providing chair massages at a recent Family Wellness Warriors Initiative (FWWI) training event. FWWI is an organization within Southcentral Foundation that provides training for those who seek to end domestic violence and harm to children in this generation in the Alaska Native community.
Lydia partnered with other local therapists during this recent corporate training that prepped leaders for an exhausting, yet rewarding week-long event that brought in participants from Alaska, the U.S. and the world. Despite Lydia's relative "newness" as a massage therapist, she became a quick favorite among the training's participants. Her skillful and therapeutic touch was exactly what was needed during the multi-day leader prep, and was evidenced by many participants willing to wait their turn in her chair.
Lydia also operates out of her home studio providing services that range from Hot Stone therapy, Swedish Massage, pregnancy massage and deep tissue therapy. Her focus is on wellness for the whole family. Lydia believes in the benefits of therapeutic healing touch for all ages, from birth to seniors. She also believes in passing on the knowledge of healing touch to parents who wish to nurture their newborns with therapeutic massage. Layperson massage for infants is an area many parents are not aware of (including myself), and Lydia feels it is just as beneficial to be done safely at home as it is in her studio. In the future she plans on holding small clinics for her clients who want to add newborn massage to the care they provide to their own children.
Lydia needed a new website and logo right away and I was honored to provide both. Simplicity is what she wanted for her website that highlighted her services, provide a way to request appointments online, and give the option to download intake forms in advance. The Massage by Lydia logo was created from scratch and meticulously hand-drawn digitally so that it was uniquely hers.
